Financial Integrity That Rebuilds Trust

Ensuring Every Dollar is Spent Wisely and Transparently

The district’s credit rating has been downgraded twice in the past three years—while over $13M in capital reserves were drained to cover operations and families were asked to pay again for the same repairs through new bonds.

I’ve led billion-dollar budgets and turnarounds—I’ll stop the double-pay asks, rebuild reserves, and ensure every dollar is spent wisely, transparently, and with community approval so current families see their tax dollars directly benefit their children.

Through a public records request, I uncovered $36,000 in wasted spending on political consultants from Strategies 360—enough to train one Orton-Gillingham teacher per grade at each of our four elementary schools or provide SAT support at the high school. Instead, these funds went to a survey and analysis projects, and I’m certain more waste is hidden in administrative bloat. Document

I advocate for greater transparency in the budget, pushing for more granularity in annual reports to identify spending on each consultant, vendor, and publisher. This will help ensure efficient use of funds. While the F-125 meets the state minimum reporting requirement, I support an administrative policy requiring more detailed financial reports beyond the legal minimum to enhance accountability.

Bringing back resident families is the best way to ensure financial stability for the district. By focusing on student needs and cutting unnecessary costs, we can rebuild trust and secure our schools’ future.
